Hennessey Hellinger, PLLC

Mr. Jeffery A. Hellinger is a principal of the law firm of Hennessey Hellinger, PLLC (formerly Durkee & Hennessey).  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Management and Marketing from Ball State University and his law degree from Seattle University School of Law.  Jeff was with Durkee & Hennessey for 29 years and, after the retirement of Mr. Durkee, he and Mr. Hennessey are continuing their practice under their new entity.

Mr. Hellinger’s practice emphasizes general commercial and construction law with an emphasis on lien and bond claims, contracts and collection.  His clients include general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, manufacturers and owners.  He has extensive practical experience with both residential and commercial construction practices.

Construction has been part of Jeff’s life from early on. He worked in his family’s businesses for over 10 years learning the tools of the trade. Prior to law school, he was a sales and marketing representative for Owens-Corning Fiberglas in its roofing materials industry. Specializing in construction law was the next natural step in Jeff’s career.

Mr. Hellinger regularly presents seminars dealing with securing and collecting business accounts and contractor claims.  A significant portion of his practice is dedicated to representing material suppliers and subcontractors in all trades with payment issues, including bond and lien claims. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the bar of the Federal District Court of the Western District of Washington.  Mr. Hellinger is also a member of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.

When he’s not practising law, Jeff can be seen riding his bike around Bellevue and the Greater Seattle area.
